Sculptor Martin Puryear is best known for sweeping, elegant and often massive wooden creations. His mastery of woodworking led him to design and build his own tools, and occasionally a commission. The MoMA (Museum of Modern Art, NYC) and iSi North America asked Martin to take on a pan scraper and the result is an exquisitely simple, functional piece. To look equally at home in the MoMA store and in shops like William-Sonoma and Sur La Table, we combined iSi’s clean corporate standards with a nod to the ’50s art deco kitchen aesthetic.
